Kids' Drama Club
January 27, 2017
From Las Vegas to Boca Grande, it’s the concert that should have happened. Jimmy Mazz and Marcy Downey star as Bobby Darin and Connie Francis. ‘It’s My Party,’ “Mack the Knife,’ ‘Beyond the Sea’ in a fun concert at the Community Center.
Those Were The Days
January 28, 2017
The next night, the show is completely different. Mazz and Downey return to sing all your favorites from the fabulous 50’s and swinging 60’s. Two terrific nights of the music you love. It's at the Crowninshield in a cabaret setting to add to the fun.
The Odd Couple
February 7 - 12, 2017
It’s the men vs. the women in this unusual event. RPP proudly presents a repertory production of Neil Simon’s classic comedy. What does ‘rep style’ mean? Well, we do the original male version one night, then the updated female version the next. We alternate for 8 shows. 4 performances for each cast. You’ll need to see both to grasp Simon’s hilarious view of male/female relationships.
Tad Ingram, Boca Grande’s favorite director, is working on both shows at the same time. The plays are similar but not the same. The casts are completely different. Many critics believe the female version is funnier.
Terry Seitz and Mike Gilbert star as Felix and Oscar, while Julia Pierce and Boots Tolsdorf star as Florence and Olive. Dan Headington, Ed Vick, Nancy Ryan, Maggie Bush, Priscilla Masselink and Jim Grant are just a few of the supporting stars. We’re not telling you which cast is which because both are hysterical. Miss one version and you'll miss out on a lot of fun.
Who do you think will be funnier? The men or the women? We’re betting you’ll want to see both.
As a special gift to you, buy a season ticket before November 10th and we’ll give you a ticket to the other version of The Odd Couple absolutely FREE!
Guys and Dolls
March 8 - 12, 2017
Opposites may attract but do they ever really fall in love and live happily ever after? This romantic screwball comedy takes you from the streets of Broadway to the clubs of Havana to the sewers of New York. Based on the short stories of Damon Runyon, the guys gamble on everything including their feelings, while the women find love is nothing like they expected.
Jeff Lehrian stars as Sky Masterson, the gambler who falls in love with a beautiful missionary, played by Kimberly Whipple. James Martin is Nathan Detroit, the man who runs the oldest permanent floating crap game in New York. Erica Ress Martin plays Adelaide, his sneezing, sniffling fiancée of 14 years. Ross Witschonke, Nathan Forrester, Joan Kulukundis, Carol Elwood and Elaine Skypala are among the talented cast. Plus a big chorus of Boca Grande's best singers. The tappers are back, too.
After a great success directing Hello Dolly!, RPP is thrilled to announce Todd Patterson is returning. With songs like ‘Guys and Dolls,’ ‘Luck Be A Lady Tonight,’ ‘If I Were A Bell’ and ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat,’ this show will sell-out fast. Don't wait to get tickets or you'll miss the boat.
Patsy Cline Returns
March 31 + April 2, 2017
By popular demand, Jackie is back. This talented RPP star sang all of Patsy Cline’s most famous hits to a packed house two seasons ago. Her rendition of ‘Crazy’ will drive you crazy. And ‘I Fall To Pieces’ is why we had to bring Jackie back again. Remember, there are less than 200 seats so get your tickets now, before this very special event sells out.
Act (ArmChair Theater)
April 4 - 5, 2017
It’s a theatrical thank you to our biggest donors. An evening of wine and supper in a beautiful island home. A wonderful reading of a one-act play follows, directed by Priscilla Masselink. Join us for this night of special fun.
An Ideal Husband
November 10 - 13, 2016
When a man’s youthful indiscretions come to light, who can save his reputation? His wife, of course. RPP’s ‘Battle of the Sexes’ begins with blackmail, deception and political posturing among London’s Elite in a delightful comedy written by Oscar Wilde in 1895. Meryl Schaffer, our new Artistic Director brings this frothy play to life as a staged reading. Ann Fletcher, Sally Johnson, Jim Sullivan, Hal McCombs and David Jenkins star, along with some marvelous new actors, too. Since this Wilde production takes place in a cabaret setting at the Crowninshield House, you may enjoy a glass of wine as you laugh at all the public and private displays of British Honour. An Ideal Husband is an ideal way to begin our 27th season. Remember, you bring the wine and we’ll bring the fun.
